Do you find it to be somewhat self-important in tone? It does happen to me quite frequently, especially when the reality is that my primary focus lies in engaging in the art of creating humorous and whimsical vocal expressions. So, when I refer to myself in that way, what exactly am I trying to convey or express?

It Means Different Things at Different Times and Circumstances

Sometimes it means that I narrate tales in which families and communities come together to seek out a traditional, collective resolution to a dilemma, ultimately discovering it through the resonant melody of a weathered, antiquated song playing on a neglected, corroded radio.

Sometimes it means that I narrate anecdotes and tales for the child that my girlfriend used to be, who remained unaware of her sexual orientation until reaching adulthood, and who required stories to serve as a protective shield of cultural identification and self-acknowledgment that she struggled to attain through other means.

At times, it implies composing characters similar to my offspring, whose gender and neurotype do not align, refuse to align, and have never aligned with the narratives established by their ancestors from several generations ago.

At times, it is necessary for the children portrayed in my narratives to challenge and shake up the world as they encounter it. At times, it implies that the grown-ups in my narratives (and, ideally, the individuals watching) must face and address the perspectives they hold regarding their offspring.
